Colin, just for correction, my early 93 GTS, that I have referred to as a "GTS4," has its original GTS engine. It was the front clip, meaning the sheet metal, that was replaced with the same from an S4. One can see the pictures of the car in its damaged condition in the listing on The 928 Registry. The "other bigger issue" might be that the car was also converted from an auto to manual with a 5 speed from an 85. The car is number 5123 which will help in looking up the pictures.

Sorry Jerry, I did get the engine wrong, and should have been more specific.
I personally thought that the car you own wasn't nearly that bad and required little.
Opposite to what many thought on here.
What matters is that you are happy with the car!

Sounds like someone tried really hard to save a GTS in trouble. Kudos! But I hope you were aware of those details before you bought it!
Our S4 is off the market, I have a deposit on it.

If it were an automatic I would agree, as a 5-speed with LSD I still say it's under-priced, even in today's market.

If I wasn't neck deep in a respray on Cassirot this would be perfect for me. I have always wanted a 5 speed, too bad about the timing. It's hard to judge a cars value by pictures alone but if it looks that clean in person it should sell reasonably fast.
