Or a GTS crank and GTS pistons in an '85 block. Otherwise it had better have been nikasiled.

Need the engine serial number and a bunch of history/documentation. Could be a great deal, but tread carefully.

Bolding mine.

Despite MrMerlins enthusiastic response, my first question would be:

"What was done to make it a "stroker" and WHO did it?"

Anything that is heavily modified can be a huge can of worms.

It could be an amazing car, it could be an amazingly deep money pit.

I have emailed the gentleman, but hopefully others will ask too. The ad is very short on details for such a car.

I called euroworks. The guy said "Thats easy. We have never done a 928 stroker."

I was thinking this was one of Gregs earlier renditions of a stroker motor in an early chassis

No, did not do this, although I've done some engines like this.

This is not a "stroker" in the sense like we talk about strokers.....it's not a 6.5 liter monster engine.

To get 5.4 liters (with stroke), all you need is a GTS crank and pistons, just like Rob Edwards said, in post #7.

With these pieces, it is technically a "stroker", when compared to a 5.0 engine....but more of "stock stroker".

BTW....you can also get 5.4 liters (5.362 liters) from a 5.0 with stock stroke, special rods, and 104mm 944 pistons. I've built these, too.

Got the following replies from him:

<<I've owned the car for about 6 years... the stroker was done before this. I had the car shipped up from North Carolina... and I believe the kit was done at Eurowerks down there. I have a fair amount of records and receipts on the car. No expense was spared in parts and repairs. Car runs great and drives true. I couple things here and there... normal wear for a classic like this. Rear hatchback latch isn't working and the AC recently went out on me.

I would have to get the other information for you once I'm by the car. No dyne log to my knowledge... just typical alignment records and other maintenance stuff.>>

I then asked if he knew about the crank/piston: He said: "Correct. I don't know enough about stroker kits, to ask these questions unfortunately." So it is an unknown engine.

It would be interesting to know what HP/TQ you get with whatever is in this 5.4 litre. But there is no dyno sheet.

I'd expect a straight 400cc displacement change, without any other changes, to result in a very nominal change in power output.

Twenty more horsepower?
