Opinions on Ebay '89 S4?
I've asked the seller a few questions about this one (not my questions that are shown with the auction though) and have an initial overall impression, but before I decide whether to voice my thoughts, was curious what the consensus was of those more experienced in this arena.

Lack of full engine bay pics is a minus for the ad - reading the text it probably needs intake removal and replacing all the gaskets, knock/hall/crank sensors etc.
However, it looks like a reasonably turn-key 928.
My only real questions are:
Who did the timing belt job and are they known on this forum as reliable? (if just some generic shop or Porsche dealership, I'd plan on taking the front off to check everything like the tensioner, cam gear wear, belt tension etc.)
How good is the paint job? Did they removed the window seals/trim/glass etc.
If the paint is good quality and the belt job reputable, I'd say its worth $15k even with the mileage. That may seem high to some, but with the interior condition and paint, its a lot cheaper than getting another 89 to the same state. You're paying up front to massively reduce the costs of ownership.

I believe the pod pictured in ad is leather. Ad says pod and dash were recovered in vinyl. It's possible the car won't show as nicely as it is pictured. Most of the hoses/rubber that we can see looks original. There are lots of other maint. items like MM, p/s rack and p/s lines that he doesn't mention. IMHO, $15 is way high.
I like color and interior, but that is subjective.
