A/C System woes

40 degrees at the center vent!
Evacuated and recharged after replacing the suction line to the compressor and the compressor itself. A/C guy is still not convinced there is not a tiny leak somewhere. I'll keep an eye on it. Have the glasses and UV flashlight.
I have learned a lot along the way. My hot water valve was non-operative. I noticed in a Theo post that sensor motor controls the vacuum to the valve - that was news to me. Used Wally's write up and determined the motor was dead - swapped in a used one from on my shelf and now the valve operates.
Just in time for winter. :-)

Everything works vacuum wise - very pleased. Replaced all the actuators when I purchased the car.

Kevin, make sure you guys save ALL of the A/C lines from the parts cars, I just found out the hard way that the low pressure (suction line), for an '88, is NLA/Back ordered and need one yesterday. Going to take the bundle of them I have and get them rebuilt to keep in stock.

Had the evacuated on Friday in preparation for flush on Monday. Removed the drier/receiver and wanted to document a couple of things. Here is the expansion block/valve under the cowl. In the picture you will see that the plate on the engine side is not flush with the mating surface. That cannot be good. I'll see if I can do better on the reassembly later.
