On my 84 with the 8 speaker system I have the factory door speakers hooked to a Pioneer head unit and the 4 rear factory speakers hooked to a small aftermarket amp in the factory location. The fader has been bypassed. I'm looking to upgrade the speakers and need to know if there is a factory crossover in the doors somewhere or if there is just filter caps on the speakers allowing me to use the factory speaker wire and not go crazy pulling things apart

The wiring diagram shows a capacitor between the mid-range and tweeter in the door, so I'd assume that means there is a crossover there.

There are no cross overs in the doors, just the freq pass filter, I'd recommend Han's custom door speakers w/ his custom Cross over's, direct fit and they sound great!

please do a search for the info
