What a fun day. The drive was the best fun I think I've had.
The twisties made Jill a little nauseous though. 😈

My comment about brakes was prescient.... Kevin and I determined where the delta between S4 and GTS brakes is, coming down the hill.

Beautiful day in SoCal for a ride up and down the mountain, and for SF14!

Here's a quick semi-panorama from the end of Highway 39, elevation 5159 feet.

Yeah, Rob. Maybe you should talk to Greg about some more horsepower so you can stay out of the way in the turns, then we wouldn't have this problem... Hahahahaha!

No, really it was a great run, and a fun chance to test the car for the first time. Those Michelins are fantastic, and the car worked much better than I expected. It was great fun trying to keep up with you right up until the brakes fried like the bratwurst at breakfast. LOL. (And I think I scared my Navigator, since he quickly switched cars!)

Thanks for the well planned drive, and for everyone's help. Sorry I held things up. Now I know what to ask Santa for in December!! !

Had a wonderful time meeting everyone today, thanks again!

Well, I was sort of constrained in giving Mark a sense of what the stroker can do until I turned onto Miraloma- ran it up through 2nd and 3rd, and hit the brakes hard, expecting the ABS to kick in. Except that it didn't. Must have slid about 50 feet (? - will have to go find the marks....) before I realized that the fronts were locked up. Tires are a little less round, now.

Will have to figure out what's up with the ABS....

Rob, your skid marks were still smoking when I came through. I was wondering how you did a burnout at that speed. Now your passenger thinks we're all crazy!! LOL!

Default Missed the dinner.

Sorry all, for missing the dinner. I was putting one of the wounded warriors back together, last evening, so the occupants could get home.

Great seeing everyone! Sorry we couldn't make the drive, looked like it was amazing. Great to put some faces to the usernames/names as well. What a great community of cars and people. Had the black beast up in the higher speeds on the way home this morning. Made it from Torrence to Fresno in 3.5 hours.. not bad!

Cheers,
Bryan
