I have been looking for some time now for a 1986 16v S2 with a RogerBox, no rub strips & no sunroof. I can live with the sunroof.
I plan to try and bring her back to life and not part her out.

He just couldn't say no to the trunk ornament.

Bet those are the rare 'pasties' option on the wheels, to help the flats look like D90s/GT wheels...https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rockon.gif

I would so steal those fogs/driving lights and put them on the kids '79.

What's funny about this car, one guy who will remain nameless, said he was going to buy it and have it shipped to me to see what was wrong. I begged and pleaded that it not be that way. Apparently he listened and didn't bid. Another who is local had his eyes on it, and I called it a POS and dreaded it.......... the 3rd just asked my opinion.

So at this point, I tell Rog that it looks like a conspiracy so he could get it and he freaking laughs at me. If we didn't already have an '87 parts car that is in line to have it's bits put in the 928sRus Truck, I'd be sorta happy.......dafuq we doing to do with this?

This should be interesting. Guess we will dress it up and make it nice to sit along side the '88 SE that is now a garage queen.

Nuther funny. The other 928 at auction right now (86 5 speed) was a customers car and after doing a huge load of work he got transferred out of town. He offered me the car and I said sure, I'll give you X amount and wipe out the bill. He didn't go for it. A few months later he sold it for less than I was going to give him. The kid who bought it shoved it under a truck, then popped the case on the gear box and now it's sitting as a repo at auction.

Sheesh.

Yeah, but everything else should be good.

If I was 100% sure the gearbox was good I'd have already bid on it. It's a shame, the paint was redone, seats were, it wasn't a bad car at all.

Well I did buy it and it sits on my driveway.
You know things are not good when they deliver your car to you on a forklift 8>)

So I set off at 4.00am this morning for the CoPart salvage yard in New Braunfels (just North of San Antonio) to collect my new 1986 S2 16v Twin Dizzy Euro.

For the money the car is basically OK but a real basket case with a ton of stuff to bring back to life.

The good --- new set of H4's, S4 front & rear calipers, new Colgan Bra, ClubSport wheels with new tires.

The Bad - everything else - rust and plain neglect. Added a battery for giggles and everything lit up as it should and the engine turned over nicely. Will do some additional checks at the weekend and add gas and see if she can live again.

This was the car on my 928 Bucket List - just not in this condition.

Looks like the mileage is real - see my avatar. 811,000 Km. Seat bolster has substantial wear and the brake pedal rubber has worn off.

This is a keeper and I will restore to original condition. Original color was silver so I will repaint silver.

This car has been for sale on and off for some time. I posted about it while it was on craigslist several months ago, at the time, it had an S4 style spoiler that has since been removed. Rust in the rear quarter panel.

I'm glad it's in good hands. Roger, I'm going to see you soon about some parts.

Thanks

Al

Dear Jaysus Roger - I hope you at least instructed that fork lift driver to lift it by the proper jack points Well that is one car that at least you know for sure the odo was not rolled back!
Can't wait to hear about it at Frenzy.

PS - thanks for the Boxster parts - everything arrived quickly and correctly for the application, as expected. I sang your praises on the 986 Board.

I buy from copart often, that's how they deliver all cars for loading. It's efficient and in some cases the only way you can load some of the cars. You certainly pay for the privilege in the fees.
