None of the manuals including the Porsche manual show this seal. It lives inside the K1 and K2 clutch housings. The rivets are cut using a cold chisel. I would contact Greg Brown at Precision Motorwerks and get all the parts from him. He stocks all the parts and has followed all the part number supercessions from MB and Porsche as well as some items he custom makes. If you source the parts from him he often provides the voice of experience for those things only learned through having built this box many times.

My rebuild kit came today from my supplier. It even came with the parts, seals and instructions to replace the "hidden" seals on the K1 and K2 support hubs. I bought some PVC from the hardware store to make my press and jig to tear down the clutches. looking forward to putting this together.

Can you post the brand and part number of your rebuild kit? I have not seen a kit that came with those instructions before.

I am a dealership so I have Worldpac as a supplier. I ordered a rebuild kit from them. It is made by a company named Precision International. They call it a kwik kit. The part number is K5600A W/O. Here is some pics.








I ordered all my parts today from my suppliers. The Torque Converter is being rebuilt tomorrow from Roadrunner Torque converter, a Phoenix company.

Here is the jig I made out of 2 1/2" PVC pipe to compress the clutch pistons to rebuild them





Don't know what the Mercedes-Benz Jig costs to tear down these clutch pistons but this one was just a few dollars at ACE.

When I'm done with these I'll donate them to the next person that needs to borrow them.

Today I removed the bottom part inside the K1 and K2 clutch hubs. This is the location of the "hidden" o ring. Here is a picture of the support turned upside down.

The K1 and K2 clutch packs are rebuilt. My rebuilt torque converter came back from Roadrunner torque converter and now on to the gearset and the pump.

I've rebuilt both K1 and k2 clutch packs and the B1 and main pump assembly. Tomorrow I'm going to tear down the gear set and put the new prongs in it. So far so good. When I pulled the b2 piston out there was coolant remnants from when my radiator blew! The clutch disks were all swelled up but not much. The cases are clean and the torque converter rebuilt. While the car is in the rack I changed out the steering rack too.

You are re-using the steel plates in the K-1 clutch and only replacing the clutches?
