Nice idea except for the smartphone part. If Escort can make a combo nav/radar detector like the iQ, then someone should be able to make an integrated nav/HUD unit.

for less than $20, i attached the iOttie phone mount to the SIDE of my instrument pod - it will stick to practically anything, curved or textured. has a super strong suction cup which is made of that sticky-stuff. love this thing.
