speedo odometer not working 87

already cleaned connections under spare tire and cleaned internal sensor wheel when I rebuilt diff.is there anything else I'm missing before I pull dash apart to change plastic gears?thanks.

It isn't clear whether you mean that neither the speedometer nor the odometer works, or that you mean that the odometers in the speedometer don't work.
If the speedometer works, but the odometers don't, the problem is usually the plastic gear.

Did you check fuse 24?
It covers a bunch of stuff including the pulse sender circuit, and interior lights. Often gets a short in the interior lights and kills it. Should be 7.5A
