Earl Gillstrom in Glen Mills, PA comes highly recommended by my car's PO. He did a lot of work on the car for the PO and his notes looked very good to me.
There's also worf928 in that area, although I don't know where exactly.
IMO, if you have to, driving to a known expert is worthwhile. I drove mine 390 miles (and flew back) to get mine to Greg (Precision Motorwerks) last weekend. That's bought me a lot of peace of mind.

1982 Automatic 928 Red on two tone tan/brown leather interior. No jobs in mind yet. Just wanted to have someone local look over the car to make sure I haven't missed anything that should be fixed proactively. Luckily all the electrical is currently working properly (as far I can tell) Pictures coming soon....

If you're willing to take the trip from NH, this is the man.

Big things for you or your wrench to look at are the fuel lines and the timing belt/water pump. Should be first on the list.
