928 TRACK CAR FOR SALE
Im selling my 1986.5 928 track car. Many on the board know it as the coca cola car - formerly owned by Abby and Constantine. The car sustained damage at a recent DE and I don't have the time or resources to make the repairs. Bottom line is that the passengers side frame rail was bent and the car will need to be straightened, along with a new hood, passengers fender, and bumper. I'm available to discuss the cars condition over the phone or on email with potential buyers.
1986.5 porsche 928 originally an automatic - converted to 5 speed.
Records on the car since day 1 including window sticker.
Damage to passengers side front.
recently rebuilt motor with new timing belt and water pump.
Full cage
fire system
jrz double adjustable suspension
Devek aluminum radiator
2 sparco race seats (1 less than 6 months old)
teamtech harnesses
momo steering wheel
S4 front brakes
custom ss exhaust.
The car was fantastic, and the accident was a single car off that really only damaged the right front - but its enough that the car will need the frame aligned and the motor pulled to make sure everything's straight. The body shop in town quoted me 6k to do the frame straightening and add the hood, fender and bumper before paint. I would have to pull the motor.
If the car doesn't sell - I'll keep it and fix later or part it. Price is 8k USD or b/o.

Ten years later the Coke Car is straight and running strong. What a fun adventure since I was at Sebring when Mark Anderson drove it and at Rennsport reunion. Constatine and I have had a few laughs about this car chasing me all over the country. Oddly my wife encouraged me to buy it. How many wives encourage the purchase of a race car?
A nice flurry of real snow for its arrival a few years ago after AO got it all straightened out.

Theres a pca logbook from 2007 when mark anderson drove the car at sebring. As far as i can tell- the cage is completely unaffected. The damage doesnt even look that bad.

This track 928 was started by Tim Westby in Houston, Texas who tracked it at TWS and autocrosses in that area. I bought it and finished converting it to a stripped track car and had a lot of fun with at Sebring and Moroso PCA track days for a few years. It was still a automatic which frustrated a lot of 911 owners who I would pass on track. It was also show cased in the Feb. 2005 edition of Excellence. Since it was also street legal, my wife and I drove it to a Sharks in the Mountain event from Florida! Got plenty of looks along the way.
I then hatched a plan to have Mark A. drive it at the PCA 48 hrs. of Sebring event in 2007. He agreed which was when I converted it to a 5-speed for this event and put the Coca-Cola livery on it. Mark A. drove it well, but the engine blew on the last lap of the sprint race. I then sold it to Abby S. who replaced the engine in it and drove it at many PCA events in the SE.
One picture shows it next to a 935 Coca-Cola Car at the Daytona Rennsport Reunion a few years back which was my inspiration for the livery. The other shows me getting onto the Sebring track for a track day.
Hopefully this car gets another chance at life and doesn't get parted out. You will be noticed at any event you go to and the car will not embarrass you against machines much younger.

A pic of the car as it came back from the track that day. As you can see it would need a hood, bumper, fender, etc. Doors are fine - open and close normally. windshield is also fine. Frame would need to be checked and straightened. Right front suspension would also need to be reviewed.
