Default Great GTG in No. Virginia yesterday!

And many thanks to Chris (Bulvot) for organizing and hosting it! A dozen or so very interesting machines, great folks, great eats, a thoroughly disgusting deerburger video from Summit Point, and absolutely perfect weather! Thanks again, Chris- it was a terrific time!

Yes, it was a great day. It's so cool to be able to pull ALL the 928s inside in one huge space. There were a lot of cool cars. It was also cool to see some of the modifications that have been thread topics (Martin's gauge backlighting, Otto's clever fix for the common dried and curled leather around the defrost vents, Bret's Murf Stage III supercharger, an John's unique from the factory Euro), and a 76 911 that really was phenomenal and had been a labor of love over more than two decades. Chris has some really cool vehicles that caught my eye - especially the 1920s pickup truck.

Best part was getting to know the people behind the screen names. Really fun conversation. It was also really cool to learn what other interests people have. Did you know Martin has been a tour guide at Monticello for 8 years? John is a very dedicated Patomac River conservationist, and at least one 928 owner makes sausage...and brought their homemade blood sausage (which was a bit too much of a stretch for me). Oh...and one was from Brazil and the other was from Portugal - and they didn't know this for a few hours - then they started speaking in Portuguese. Too funny.

Otto handed out T connectors to replace the evaporator Y connectors that every 928er will need - that's a perfect cheap party gift!

I hope this becomes a regular thing during mid summer. I don't think I saw Chris's 928. Hope to see it running soon.
