Default Great LED work / trouble light

Found this at Lowes- it's a 10 watt LED light that runs on either 110 or 12 volts. Comes with the 110 volt cord attached and a separate 16 foot 12 volt cord that plugs into a cigarette lighter socket. Uses a rocker switch to select voltage. It's 700 lumen & light color 4000k. Very bright! Runs so cool you can hold it. The feet fold to any position. Very thin. Specs here:

Got to lowes.com and enter "Utilitech Pro 1-Light 15-Watt LED Portable Work Light" in their search box.

Link works fine on my Safari. Think I will have to get one of those, my last LED work light's battery died and don't charge no more.

While it looks good, reviews aren't really impressed in many cases. Stand is flimsy, light is one hot spot.

One of the discussions came up with an interesting idea for the garage - one of the cheap clamp-on aluminum reflectors with an LED bulb. Cool, won't break easily, relatively cheap.

I have yet to find a trouble light that works me - my garage is a collection of them. Some with stands - some with magnets to attach, some with hooks - some with headbands - some are rechargeable - some are wired - - - - still on the hunt for the perfect one - the elusive holy grail.

SnapOn makes a cordless light with a row of emitters that many really like, about $130, its called BAR utility light http://store.snapon.com/Rechargeable...e-P651149.aspx

Cheap and works its hard to beat a CFL in $7 clamp on aluminum reflector.

My current lights are a mix of a 18watt Bayco and HF 9watt both CFL, all are small and easy to hook on stuff or arrange.

Top of my thinking about it list, Mountain 39 watt T5 flourescent tube under hood light, about $80 at Amazon.

This LED light will fit where anything else won't like the side of the engine - just over an inch thick or lay it on it's back to do dash work- it won't burn the carpet.
Worth looking at next time you are in a Lowes- they have them out & plugged in.
