Has anyone ever done a collision repair thread on a car like this? Would be neat to follow what all you find as you go through the repairs ...

Some people will do anything to get access to that brake booster.

This is unfortunate, but glad it can be saved. Kinda complicates the primary question here, i.e., what is it worth. The good thing is the damage is to the same fender that was previously re-sprayed.

Kevin, please update this thread as it progresses.

Thank you for saving this fine car.

Doesn't look like the fender was driven back into the door. And it also appears that the brunt of the force was above the main frame rail.

Hope nobody was seriously hurt. Did the airbag deploy?
Is it just me, or is it the case that many nicely preserved cars get into serious accidents shortly after getting purchased?
Glad you're saving it!

Airbag did not deploy. I am hoping it is a easy fix - but won't really know until it goes on the rotisserie. :-)

Impact from direct on front, should be pretty straight underneath. Roger will get you fixed right up.

Recommend a full repaint afterward. The red is hard to match, and it doesn't fade at similar rates.

I'm 99% sure that left front fender had already been repainted. Paint was awfully close to that on the door/rear qtr, not exactly.

Yeah the front left fender was repainted. Luckily, that is the fender that will be replaced. In the interest of full disclosure it appears the passenger rear quarter was repainted at some point - RichVM noticed that - there are tape lines at the rear quarter window gasket.

The car is at my house. Here are a few pictures of its current state.

I am interviewing body shops and hope to get it straightened later this year.

That's an awful shame to see... See the guy who is doing the frame pull for the Coca Cola Car restoration?

Assume this means salvage title from here on out...
