Default What does this darn switch do?

I have my pod out....I was looking behind / under the dash, where the pod sits, looking for any ground points to clean, and in spy this switch just crammed in the dash, on the left side, just below the air duct going to the drivers door. It was not mounted to anything, just crammed in there....the wiring is wrapped in old dry tape that appears to be factory. The wiring goes to the big harness strapped to the steering wheel shaft behind the dash.

Any ideas?

That picture is showing the wires going from the switch up.....it is just hanging, since I pulled it out from where it was stuffed.

This picture shows the harness under the pod, where the two wires from mystery switch disappear into.

That looks like the clutch pedal switch...5 speed cars have a switch that is triggered by the clutch pedal, mounted under the dash near the top of the clutch pedal assembly.

That switch is used for the disable/auto resume of the cruise control.

You guys are my heroes! I don't think I would have ever figured that out! Why in the fvck would they have crammed the darn thing under the dash?
