First really talked to him at traverse city next to his concours weissach, my gosh he was so passionate and knowledgeable, and as Andrew noted, emphasized the factory extras. You could tell he was hurting, but he was amazingly energetic and focused, wow it was fun talking to him! Will miss you Dennis.

I was fortunate enough to know Dennis for more than 6 years, when I bought my first 928. I went to my first local 928 meeting at an Irish pub called Four Greenfields and met the Detroit gang of Dennis, Andrew, Dave, Rob Budd and others. Dennis had the information/application waiting for me so I could join the 928OC, and he was known as our Den Mother.
From the Jimmy Buffet ring tone on his phone to his Garage Mahal, Dennis loved pretty much anything Margaritaville and 928's. Even when our Irish Pub closed down, he found a new venue called Parrot Cove Yacht Club and guess what? It was pretty much decorated like Margaritaville, only in Detroit. As the guys have said, he was devoted to 928's and was more than happy to help any of us with our cars. He helped with organizing any local event and spoke with sponsors, shop owners and PCA representatives to let everyone enjoy and learn more about the 928.
I am lucky to have had Dennis as my friend. He was one of those guys that people just gravitated to and enjoyed being around.
RIP, Dennis. I will miss your signature burnouts

Copied from AO's email to the Detroit Area Owners below:
After a long up and down battle with cancer, Dennis Szeremet passed away this past Monday. If you don't know who Dennis was, Dennis was instrumental in bringing many of us on this list together. He was one of the most passionate 928 owners there ever was or will be.
There will be a full military service on Thursday July 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
We will also hold an informal service at this year's Sharks In Hell, on Saturday August 2, at 2PM. All are welcome.

Although I haven't seen Dennis in few years, I thought of him often. He was a great guy, and one that you couldn't forget if you tried. I wish I had lived closer where I could've spent more time with him. As has already been mentioned, his Weissach was absolutely georgous, and the pinstriping was tasteful, I don't care what anyone thinks. LOL. The exhaust note on that car was better than Viagra at getting you excited. He was a wonderful person and he will be missed.

Meet Dennis a couple years back at Sharks in Hell. Great guy and great car. We talked for quite a while and my girl friend very very much enjoyed enjoyed his company and hearing from him about his car. He, like his car, are a rare and beautiful testament to how people & things can and should be. RIP

Dennis was always a pleasure to be around. Had many a good times at the Detroit 928 Thursday nights, Sharks in Hell, and down at Sharks in the mountains.
Even when he wasn't around his affection for 928's was in the air. Never a gathering where he wasn't mentioned.
I will miss him, like many here. Good bye, Dennis. Thanks for pleasure of having crossed your path.
I absolutely will!

I can't tell everyone how great it is to visit this site. I love and appreciate all the kind words for my Dennis. His mind was willing, but his body was worn out. All of you know what a horrible and devastating disease cancer is. These last 4 months spent in the hospital were everything I hoped he would never experience. So much pain and suffering. I miss him terribly but I can't wish him back like he was this last year. Thirty five days into this hospital stay, his very special love, our 14 year old golden retriever, Jasmine, also died from cancer. I take comfort knowing the two of them are reunited and eating hundreds of those little powdered donuts together. Five years ago after his initial surgery, she spent hours sleeping with him on the hospital bed in our living room. She was my best girl also, but I always knew she would go right before him and be waiting for him when he arrived. I am consoled that he and Jasmine reside together in Porsche Heaven. My brand new guardian angels. Watching from above, still waiting for the Lions to win the Super Bowl. I look forward to seeing everyone August 2. In honor of my beloved husband. - Sue
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes I watched and saw you pass away. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands...rest, God broke my heart to prove to me, he only takes the BEST.
