In Memoriam RIP Sueden (Dennis)
Dennis Szeremet (Sueden) passed away Monday July 14th 2014 after a long arduous battle with cancer.
About 12 years ago Dennis was instrumental in bringing the Detroit 928 group together. With him our group prospered and many long term friendships came about.
Without him we will endure and continue on, but he will be sorely missed.
Dennis had the most beautiful, well kept 1982 Weissach Edition 928, bar none.
Dennis was the one who flew the Porsche flag at most of our gatherings.
Dennis made it to many 928 get togethers over the years including Sharks in the Mountains and Sharks In Hell and some I'm sure I missed.
Dennis had a Garage Mahal where he kept his Weissach, complete with water fall, pond, and palm trees.
Dennis worked as an equipment operator for the infamous construction company who's owner along with the Mayor of Detroit ended up in jail. (We joked about this endlessly)
Dennis made sure we had T shirts for Sharks in Hell.
Dennis never made fun of my Chevy powered 82 928.
Dennis sent out the email announcements for out meetings and get togethers.
Dennis arranged to have a porta potty at Sharks in Hell so Mark's country cabin didn't suffer the onslaught of 80 or so beer drinkiing Shark owners.
Dennis always offered help and advice without hesitation.
But most of all Dennis was a friend to me and countless others who's lives he touched.
Now he is gone and he will be missed.

Rob,
Thank you for posting this sad news about Dennis. Dennis was the first 928 owner I met when attending my first Frenzy - in 1999. Great guy, as you described. VERY dedicated to the 928 community. He always contacted me to obtain the OC contribution toward Sharks in Hell, and I was wondering why I hadn't heard from him. This is indeed sad news for all who knew him, and for our community as a whole.
I did have to smile at the contrast of the telephone conversations Dennis and I've had regarding the meet in 'Hell, MI', and the location of the memorial services in 'Holy MI'. Since Dennis always had a great smile during our face to face chats, I suspect he even smiles about 'that' "Holy Hell"!!
May Dennis rest in peace, and may his family know that Dennis was loved by the 928 community as well as by them.

Farewell Dennis, Im glad i got to meet you and Sue along with the Michigan 928 crowd as it was definitely a lot of fun. As impressive as Garage Mahal is it faded into the background next to the character Dennis had. Dennis was instrumental in helping me sort out the interior of my boat project, even with his failing health he had a tireless enthusiasm. Mine is one of those lives that Dennis had an influence on, beyond merely an introduction to Jimmy Buffett and Red Stripe beer..

A great guy and a great friend, Dennis was also very active in the local P-Club, his car took second place at the Porsche Parade in Travers City last summer.
He was extremely knowledgeable on 16v 928's and a great do it yourself mechanic too.
A Pic of Dennis and his '82

Dennis was the first 928 owner I met, and quickly became a friend. It's no exaggeration to say he was the anchor for the Detroit 928 crew. I learned how to change my first timing belt with him, and he was right there beside me and everyone else whenever there was a project to be done.
Here's the page I created about his beautiful '82: http://members.rennlist.com/bigdave/Weissach.html
RIP my friend! You are already missed.

God bless to an awesome friend.
It was incredibly sad to see his decline, but I am grateful that his suffering has come to an end.
As Rob says, Dennis was instrumental in bringing a lot of 928 people together. His passion for these cars and having fun was intoxicating.
Sharks in Hell just won't be the same this year without Dennis and his amazing Weissach with matching luggage, boots, jacket, hat, and damn near anything else he could convince you as having come from the factory. He was just one of those guys who jumped into the deep end of 928s and was comfortable.
Gonna miss you partner!

It always hurts when someone as nice as Dennis passes. What a great guy.
He also had my favorite sounding 928. Just a fantastic NA 16V exhaust note.
He will be missed.
