SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) is the foremost world-wide professional organization for "automotive" (which includes fuel, lubricant, chemical, aerospace, marine, etc.) engineers. This is an interesting SAE tech article on coolants. Remember that SAE does not make or sell anything, and is about as non-biased a source as exists.

I used the G13 from VW. In all my years of Audi ownership (and top end rebuilds) I have never seen any corrosion on the Al parts.

IB4TL

Edit: following a couple of random links, I learn that OAT-based coolant is either good, bad, or indifferent for copper/brass soldered radiators. More indications that its bad.

I don't know when 928s switched to all-AL radiators, but there are some older copper/brass radiators still running around.

This post/thread probably should have been added to the master coolant thread and see post #48 there -- https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...coolant-4.html

At issue is the theory that OAT coolants will leach the lead from solder on copper/brass radiators.
