Hey guys, these are all great suggestions, and I usually get a lot of interesting ideas out of this kind of brain storming. However, you will notice that in the first line of this thread I suggested that "Some time ago I developed..." which suggests that what I have done is just that--done.

On the other hand, what you, Alan, have to suggest includes some possibilities for further development of what I have already created, particularly with your suggestion of incorporating the USB port or ports and phone jack into the internal box itself. I think if the correct items are selected there is probably plenty of room between the front panel of the inner box and the outer shell for the body of these ports and jack, and without moving the latch.

I doubt that a cup holder is ever going to find its way into this box; and I am pretty sure that I am not going to develop another box for this position in the 928.

I was actually thinking about just this a couple days ago. Goes to show that there are goods ideas and new ideas. Most of the time they are mutually exclusive.

Got any pics of it installed?

Yep. This one. It is the prototype that I first put in my silver S4 and after it sat there for a long time the top developed a wrinkle. I will have to redo it to get the leather tighter. I made some leather forming and installing tooling that will help me get it much tighter.

Hi Jerry, very nice work. You are indeed talented. At one time or another I might decide to go for it with my burgundy leather interior, but for now I have to hold off on doing what is necessary until my finances are in better shape.

I will keep this thread in my list for later.

Jerry, I've been in search of a solution for the 993. Not as much for storage - but more for my right arm to rest upon. This could morph into a significant business!

I don't have a 993 so I have to ask, Just what is there in between the front seats for something of this nature to rest upon?

These glove boxes never were very readily available, but I suspect that I could put one or two together from the pieces I previously formed. The tough question with them always was the color of the leather to cover one, although I think there are a couple out in the shop nearly completed from long ago and I think they are covered in Black The real problem with them is the cost, like some of my other items that never went anywhere.

What color is your interior? Or, more importantly, what color is your dash and center console?
