Thank you, that was a number of years ago, it has looked both worse and better over the intervening years since the snapshot was taken.
The intake is straight-up polished by a 928 enthusiast that offered that service years ago, Dave Schaeffer/928 Metalworks. The waterneck and air intake bezels are powder coated.

I think you may be right about being the first, at least to discuss that on this forum. I can think of two other installs (("Ricerschnitzel" was one) but both were MSD, and both CIS IIRC.

Possible POC re: coil: https://rennlist.com/forums/8021631-post11.html

I have done lots of things that some folks think are a bit crazy on my car - but I wouldn't do this... I always thought the spark system on our cars was one of high points. The late model EZKs esp. seem particularly bulletproof.

But that certainly doesn't mean you shouldn't go ahead and do it.

well don't give up yet

Yes there may be some cool factor. I just installed a chin spoiler that I am sure has no practical value other than I like to look at it (until some curb trashes it).

But in the engine bay fun or cool does not cut it, it won't stay in my engine bay if it doesn't earn it's stay.

Guess the only course now is get the kit installed, dyno the results and post them eh?

So it occurred to me that the instructions for Perma tune might have some useful content, at least handy reference to the wires at the harness connector:

Regarding your spoiler- as you know it is costly and a pain to manipulate into place, damage can also be passed onto the fenders and (more likely) fragile grille connecting points. Consider these:

Thx for the perma tune site. Excellent info great troubleshoot area as well. There is a distributor not far from me I will look into it. If the price is reasonable I may give it a shot.

I have to get the chin spoiler protectors thx again for the heads up. The spoiler cost alot! The protectors are a bargain. Even better if you can you lift on them too.

Funny, they have a pic of an early model with the chin spoiler attached and now that I know how it is actually supposed to be installed I will be heading down to my garage for some corrections. Live and learn ...

I actually wasn't intending to recommend the perma tune unit itself.

It might be worth searching this site for any dusty archive entries on them. They didn't really catch on with 928s. There may be more info on some of the other sub-forums and it is good that you have a local POC. I tried one with their coil, noticed no real gains and the unit fritzed out after a couple months. Since then, they closed temporarily for a substantial (supposed) overhaul and re-tool, haven't heard much about the outcome of that. YMMV.

PM Lizard928 for custom ignition wires, he has a source that can make anything. For example, he had spark plug wires made up for me that were Ford EDIS on the coil end and 32v 928 on the spark plug end. I think he's on vacation right now, so he may not be able to respond right away.

First real mod I ever did on a car was an ignition booster box. No changes I could notice, but two ignition switches later it came out, lucky the first one didn't start a fire.

Putting a Euro top end on a 4.5L 95mm bore short block is a bad idea. Flow is compromised even on a Euro 4.7 97.5mm bore block, much better to use a US 85/86 short block.

Welcome to the group.
