Great looking car.

Congrats on your find.

That is Cork like mine but in great shape (not like mine was)

Can you find the exterior color code?

Thanks guys,
The owner told me it was a euro, but the more i look i'm thinking that it is not. How ever im pretty excited to get her in my hands tomorrow. The previous owner offered to have the AC recharged and ignition switch done as well as whatever it needed for new sticker done on his coin. (by harry at bergan imports, cliffside poark NJ) He said he would also look the car over and give a quick tune up, whatever that exactly means im not sure. The VIN is 9288200645 if that gives any insight. When i get her tomorrow i will look at the color code. Thanks all for appreciating it as much as i do

that is a beautiful car. The interior is cork as others above have said. It is what I have. I have black matts too. As Randy suggested, black goes well with the cork interior, especially since your pod is black. These early cars are the best. Color is similar to petrol blue, but does not look quite the same (see the 79 in this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-it-worth.html).
It does not look like a euro to me. Wrong sidemarkers, and it has the chrome rings on the headlights. These are H7's I beleive, which are US spec headlights. What is the vin? That's the way to tell for sure.
Since you are in NJ, you are close enough to attend Frenzy this fall (in NoVA). I hope you do, as I'd love to see this car up close.

that is a US vin. Your car is number 645. Mine is 843. Color code will be on the sticker in the door jamb on driver's side. Also, as to your mechanic doing a tune up - be careful - make sure he knows the CIS injection system - Bosch K-jet. These are tricky to set right. When they are, the car runs great. When they are not, not so great.

That's a US VIN, but still a sweet car. Not too much difference between the 2, you'll have a cat converter on yours, little less HP, but not as much smell.. Congrats on the car, looks like a beauty. Check the fuel lines and read the FAQ's on the 928 page, it's practically the bible for these things, i've learned SO MUCH from these guys..

Fantastic looking car. That one is going to be very desirable in the not quite so near future. Take care of it, improve it and you will get every penny you put in to it back plus some.

Very well done.

Color codes for 1978 blues:

Standard
387 Albert Blue

Special
304 Minerva Blue Metallic
376 Petrol Blue Metallic

I'm not familiar with Albert Blue, but I know it's not Minerva. My first thought when I saw the pictures was Petrol Blue.

That is a nice car. Petrol Blue/Cork is my favorite. I was interested in looking at this car but I could not get up to Joe's to see it. he is the original owner I believe and seems to really care about it. It is a US edition. Check the fuel lines and consider upgrading the ball joint as a safety precaution. Please post more pics too!

I had been interested in this car for a while now, but was unable to get up there to take a look. I called Joe last week to ask about the car and he said -"I sold it to a nice young man". I congratulated him for the sale and asked him to tell the new owner about this site. I have to ask, did you happen to hear about this forum from him? Either way welcome! You are in a the most helpful 928 community. The members here posses a wealth of knowledge and are more than willing to offer up their hard earned wisdom to assist you. Read the FAQ section, Add a signature with '78 5-speed so whenever you post a question folks know what car you have and can better assist you. ...did I mention check the fuel lines? Welcome Steve!

+1. Cork is what it was called on my '77 911S. My favorite leather color. The more it looks like well preserved tack, the better.

Great looking car. Good for the doc, and you.

Did you get all the records?

P.S. No sunroof, no rubstrips. Niiiiiiice.
Chat up all the mechanics.
