Default Tail light blinks

Driving at night, the passenger side taillight blinks on and off continuously. Sounds simple but I haven't been able to find anything. The bulb is fine. Just curious if anyone has encountered this. I'm a little embarrassed about something like this being unfathomable but it's worth a try to ask the many experts on this site.

Barney,
Look for the horses before the zebras.
You have a wiring fault back there in the harness or at the socket.

You will.
Get out your DVM and narrow it down till you localize it.
Any corrosion in the socket hardware ?

And Barney,
If you change out bulbs, use the same bulbs on both sides. The Lampkontrollerat (Bulb Controller) will not like even the most minor of assymmetries.

check the connector under the carpet near the tool panel. There is a two wire connector for the passenger side and one for the driver side. Clean them out and spay some deoxit in them.

The deoxit is brilliant stuff, and worth using on all connections. It's the only product for electrical connections that has actually worked every single time for me.

If's there's an intermittent connection it'll fix it.
