Question Aftermarket Alarm Tied in to LH?

I found this blue connector cut in to the LH plug wiring. It looks like it's aftermarket, anyone ever see anything like this before? Can I remove it? The funny thing is that appears to tap in to two separate wires???

That is a T-tap. It folds over a wire and metal teeth bite through the insulation making a contact. You can remove it and tape up the bite mark.
Good luck,

Yes, but what's it for? I just looked through the wiring diagrams and from what I can tell Porsche didn't use Orange wires (at least it's not listed in the color key at the bottom of the sheets). That leads me to believe that all four of these wires are aftermarket.

from the looks of this connector it may be being used to join two different wires together.
I think its time to get out the wire diagram and see whats going on.
normally joining wires like this isnt done but it appears to be a crafty way to use this type of connector

I looked, with the exception of Brown anything that comes out of the LH has a stripe on it, these have to be aftermarket. Considering that the car has a non-functioning "Clifford" alarm I think these must belong to that system.

I may be seeing it wrong, but it looks like the blue T-tap is installed on a single striped wire. The wire that used to be connected to it is no longer there. I have no idea why someone would attach an alarm lead to the LH brain, but stranger things have happened.

Dave,
It's a bit deceiving but that's actually two wires, one yellow and one orange. The tap cuts through both of them.

I see, Thom. Sorry. That is a "creative" way to use the connector.
