You are going to lose 10 pounds on the way home tomorrow with your AC not working....Hopefully I will too but I think that might be a good thing....celebrating number 40 next week and the metabolism is slowing down....

Let's talk tomorrow, I'm always down! I have a big garage too, so we don't need to work outside.

When you change the heater valve, change the short hose that connects to the heater valve. Apparently it is a failure item. Might as well, while you are in there.

After changing the heater valve, you still may get a bunch of hot air-- you probably have a huge vacuum leak. Need to change the HVAC actuators as well.

And... make sure you have a good vacuum source to the system. Check the source line to its connection off the master cylinder. There are several points along this path where you can have vacuum loss and compromise the system. A new heater valve without adequate vacuum will resemble an old heater valve. Best Wishes.

Here's Wally's fantastic write up on the HVAC system.

I doubt that will be the case here - I think you most likely have a vacuum issue - however a new heater valve won't do any harm, and its possible its one of several causes. Given your other symptoms - I'd not start there though.

I'm going to follow Dwayne's write up, and replace diaphragms, the valve, and any hoses losing vacuum. Hayden and I may have found the mystery wire, and will look into that soon as well.
