Default Positives of owning a 928

I am addicted to rennlist, and to all 928's in general. I go through every post that is on here every day. We all talk about what our problems with our cars are, and help each other to fix them. I wanted to start a more positive thread to remind us all why we own a 928. I would love to hear some stories, of why you love your car!

Does this have something to do with the 82 928 I saw on Craigslist yesterday?....You are right....this forum is one of the many positives of owning a 928. I think I'm on here more than facebook.

Interesting moment here while I ponder the question 'why do I love this car'.
To say 'because it looks great, handles like a dream, is very powerful and fast', etc... would for me to be way to simplistic. At my age, and position in life, the way I own this car is a reflection of myself. It is unique, engineered, and constructed, with thought and imperfections. It requires diligence to maintain its expected performance and status. I do all the work on the car to keep it that way. I do the same in my profession, and in my life in general.

The smile it brings every time I get in her. The sound of the engine, either when I'm getting on it, or just crusing down the road. The folks that want to stop and talk about her, and the looks and pointing or comming up along side to take cell phone pic's. I even enjoy working on her. and most of the time don't even mind spending the cash to make her run or look better. I can't say any of the above about my DD. These are just a few of my favorite things!

Yes, I enjoy researching, planning out, and doing the work on the car as much as enjoy driving it.

Going 100 in a turn in your 928 that you've only previously driven at 70 in a modern 2013 sedan-huge positive-especially when it's effortless....

The sound, the feel, and the reliability. Well, at least for me, it is one of the few things that keeps on giving and getting better over time.

Every project on these cars just feels so rewarding when it is done, and they are built like tanks so they don't die .

For me, my favorite part of this car is walking in the garage every morning. I park it by the door so I have to walk by it to get to my dd. I usually use my duster on it and fully walk around it admiring it every day.

"I like big butts and I cannot lie. You other brothers can't deny. When a girl walks in with an itty bitty and a big butt in your face you get sprung!" Oh and " Fat bottom girls you make the rockin world go round!"

Nothin beats a double downshift at 80 and that rush as your shot out of cannon!

I don't have a 928, but I will post here anyway. They are just fabulous to look at. Nice round butt. V-8 engine. Porsche.

Per Wikipedia:

The Porsche 928 was a luxury sports-GT car that was sold by Porsche AG of Germany from 1978 to 1995. Originally intended to replace the company's iconic 911, the 928 combined the power, poise, and handling of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury sedan to create what some Porsche executives thought would be a vehicle with wider appeal than the compact, quirky and sometimes difficult 911.

Since its inception in 1949, Porsche has manufactured only six front-engined models, four of which were coupes, including the 928. The car has the distinction of being the company's only coupe powered by a front-mounted V8 engine, and the company's first mass-produced V8 powered model.
What better reasons than those?

Ah ha ha haaaa

The look, the sound, the feel, even the smell...makes me smile to own and drive.

The color is what got me.

All the above.
It still amaze me that I have one in my garage every day even after eight years of ownership.
...Something I dreamed about for over twenty five years.

And the timing was perfect with the arrival of the internet and Rennlist.
Without those two, I would not be able to own a 928.
Thanks guys.
