Default 928 Tech sessions/workshops?

I'm fortunate the previous owner was meticulous about maintenance, but I know I will have to wrench someday (probably sooner that later)

I'm used to timing gears, not timing belts; drums, not discs, carbs , not FI... so I have a lot to learn.

I'd like to get familiar with the 928, before I HAVE to...
Are there any tech session or workshops scheduled for the 928 in the SoCal area?

I see the Orange Coast PCA periodically scheduled workshops, but I assume it's devoted to 911's and derivatives.

OR

If anyone in the area is planning to do a project, and needs an extra set of hands, I'd love to get my hands dirty.

Where are you located? Perhaps consider adding that to your forum profile.

I'd be in for that too for sure. I'm in Costa Mesa. I don't mind opening my garage, beer fridge and lending my car as a mule if some of the more experienced guys want to wrench on it for a tech session. Josh

You're next door to 928 International. Maybe spend a little time volunteering as an intern gofer? Almost undoubtedly, everybody there, probably including the other visitors, will know more about 928's than you. (It was true for me anyway. ;-)

Read this Multi-page Sticky Thread:

Well I am at 405 and Euclid Ave and doing TB and WP now so if any of you want to swing by and help or chat, let me know. I am fairly competent with BMW but fairly confident with this job so far so I'll be glad to share what I learn.

Buy
 this book this book
, read it until you 'get it.' After that, you'll have the foundation for anything related to how the engine is running.

At this rate, may be. I am going to order the Porken tensioner tomorrow so depends on when it'll show up. I may rebuild the alternator also since it's almost out, just need to remove the wires. You can call or text me at 9494O O4O26.

The book is a good tip.

I've had it for 20 years. It's what got me through all the tunining on my SAAB way back when... It was all applicable to the 928 I have as well.
