Greg Brown likes to use BOTH the liquid to liquid heat exchanger in the radiator AND then pass the oil through an air to oil cooler for additional cooling potential !!

I run a large NASCAR Setrab in the rear of my 928, plumbed with -10an line to/from the factory oil cooler ports. Ducting from the 1/4 glass works to pressurize the topside of the cooler using a NASCAR twin 3" carbon fiber shroud.

I know the Estate has a large cooler now, I was told 36 row setrab mounted in front of the drivers tire I think.....it works GREAT.....I never saw more than 225F temps...vs 275F when I didn't run a cooler....

I have too much cooling: a big block radiator & a NASCAR Setrab cooler, about 14x12x2 using a dual 3" ducted carbon fiber shroud, vented off the quarter window as per above. I have in insert ***** to reduce air flow on cooler days.

Yes my oil lines come from the factory thermostat housing & fittings.

Many before have run large oil coolers in front of the radiator, only to more quickly overheat the engine since the radiator is now both partially blocked and fed much hotter than ambient air. For this reason, my oil cooling needs went to the rear of the car & my radiator went big.

You can partially seem my oil cooler in the rear shot (yes the Koni's were removed for my coilovers)

Sounds uncomfortable. But I admire your dedication and flexibility.

No offense intended.
Can you post additional pics of the ducting from the rear quarter to the rear cooler? Did you go through the floor where the spare used to sit? How did you handle the battery box?

I used a NASCAR shroud atop a NASCAR Setrab Oil cooler, and cut-out my battery box to mount it all there. I moved my Braille 21lb battery behind my dash center console so my larger battery wires were as short as they could be.

Understood. Makes sense.
Where did you run the oil lines? Under car with the fuel/brake/etc?
