Any chance theres a write up on replacing that knock sensor without removing the intake?

I did the rear one after pulling the Mar and the boot. I have small hands and it was a serious chore.. a short while later we discovered the front sensor was also due, and concurrently decided the rest of the stuff under the intake was in need of renewal. New hoses, injectors, cups, rubber parts. Worthwhile improvements.

It can be done, but why? If one is bad then the other is bad. Pull the intake. Trust me and do it all, if you cheap out you will be doing it more than once. I tried the cheap way on my own car. It doesn't end well.

Sean

The only reason would be that my intake was done within the last 20,000 miles. My knock sensor works fine however the plug end is falling apart, I purchased a new one a while back just never got around to installing it.

So I was thinking I'd just replace that one sensor.

Still a bad idea in your opinion?

FWIW if the knock sensor connector looks like it does,
then as Sean advises the other knock sensor will be in the same condition ,

AND this will also include the crank position sensor and the Hall sensor on the right cam,
so replacing only one knock leaves 3 other parts that also should be swapped out
