928 on "Classic Car Rescue"

Drifting
Timing belts "look" new. Really ?
343 Hp...that was at flywheel per screen shot, not BHP....285 at brakes. A little misleading.
Aftermarket alarm is NOT a 928 problem in general.
But...any press is good press I guess. In general it was favorable.
I like the show but like most...too much drama between personalities. That's why I like "Wheeler Dealers"....very little drama and lots of REAL car related info.

That show is horrible. I could only tolerate it because of the 928 content. Focus more on the cars and less on the douche bag hosts and it would be 100% better. Wheeler Dealers is infinitely better.

What a joke, they missed all the important bits on the motor. How long before it's in for a fire or bent valves.
Bernie is a tool.

I hate the show. those guys are fools and all they do is flip a car. I did think the 928 came off well. Durable cars that are well built. They spent most of their money replacing parts that were sold off the car. And yes they did not do the right stuff to the car.

Most of you chaps probably do not know Paul, the dealer who sold them the car. Paul is probably the most knowledgable 928 mechanic/wheeler dealer in the UK and if anyone knows the cars value it will be him. I find it interesting that 4 chaps work on the car for 3 weeks and the "bill" for their 480[?] manhours of effort was 1800 pounds? Sounds as though they use the same accountants as Enron. You are probably lucky if you can get someone who knows what they are doing for 50 pounds per hour these days- 90 hours to do that lot including two paint jobs?
I guess that's what they call "show business"

Having been very critical of this show in the past, I have to say that it appears that season 2 is a big improvement over season 1. There is still too much staged conflict between the two hosts. And, the premise of the show, that success or failure depends on the value of an independent appraisal, is still phony. Too much time is spent on obvious things without conveying any useful information. (In this episode, they revealed that bolts an fasteners that have been on a car 20+ years might be hard to remove! They spent a good deal of time on that shocking news without informing the viewer how a seasoned mechanic might overcome the issue. They also shared the trade secret that shops start with rough sandpaper before moving to finer grits!) Still, they've moved the show in the right direction.
So, on a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being a great show, and judging by this one episode, season 2 of Classic Car Rescue rates negative 2. Season 1 was rated negative 5. Watching season 1 is apt to induce nose bleeds. Season 2 will just reduce your IQ by a few points.

I really enjoy Wheeler Dealers as well. Bought myself of the orange gloves that Ed China hawks. Seem to be nice gloves. $40 delivered was a bit steep but hey, they are orange!
