An someone please tell me what the small triangle on the driver window does? I've asked every 928 guy I run into, and have thoroughly scoured the web.. It's really bothering me.

"Thrust Wedge" for helping guide the glass into the recess while driving.

Helps direct the window into the channel when closing the window at speed. It is held on by a single philips head screw in the middle of the window channel. You do not want to be without one (or two...)

Great question, I dunno. Is there only one thrust wedge on the right side of the car on RHD 928's?

their should be a wedge on both windows,
if this part isnt installed and the window is closed while traveling at speeds over about 50 MPH,
the top of the window may get pushed outwards,
and thus jamb the window from closing.
This could cause the window to shatter, or the lower window attach point to be damaged

I was missing the passenger wedge. I have a brand new one in hand. Do I have to remove the inside trim to install the screw? Looks pretty tight. Also, does it need a bit of RTV or something similar when installed?

a small Phillips screw is needed,
carefully push the rubber seal out of the way then fit the screw driver into the screw,
put a towel over the top of the window once its down,
so the screw cant fall into the door,
Or rig a piece of card board to the top of the window to catch the screw as it will probably fall going in or coming out
