Default Engine Compartment weatherstrip

As my 1983S slowly transforms back to its original engine room, I`m getting down to the details.

Does anyone know where to get the rubber strip that went across the top of the plastic radiator/intake hose/air dam/ upper shroud/ bracket? It slides onto the small lip across the front. It has a pinch style attachment.

Thanks, Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Just curious why the reversion to stock. I am about to install a supercharger kit, and you are in the final stages of its removal.
Thanks,
Dave

You can get some from Jerry Feather... he has lots I think for his cowl project (I believe its the same thing)- or order it direct online - I bought some a while ago (had to buy lots but it was actually pretty cheap) - I don't recall where from?

I find the car to be more enjoyable stock. I spent too much time tweeking the engine, cleaning up $10qt Mobil One oil, spending money on fixes, additional guages, ProVent200, belts, cooling/oil/breathing solutions, etc. I found the S/C was really cool to look at and say I had installed, but that didn`t outweigh the wrenching time spent on it.

The extra power was great, but not very useable in day to day driving because it only comes on at upper end of RPM range above 3000rpms. Not really where we drive a car with a 2:20 gear in the back. I also found myself beating up the car using that high RPM range constantly.
I guess I got bored with spending all my time on it. Dont let my opinion sway you from enjoying the hell out of it. The car is now back to stock, starts and runs like new, doesn`t leak oil everywhere and is still an awesome car to cruise for endless miles.

Thanks, Kevin. I share your thoughts, and fear that I will enjoy the install, but seldom find the power useful. Only time will tell. I think I will need to modify my driving somewhat, to maintain higher revs. I also ordered the 9 psi kit with intercooler, so maybe the boost will come on a little earlier.
Thanks for your frankness.
