Default 80 US A/T - Fuel Sending Unit Question

Good morning all! I had my fuel sending unit pulled out about and inch/ inch and a half and it wouldn't come all the way out. I don't want to break anything, so is there something else I need to disconnect besides the fuel line and electric connector on top? Sounds like it's stuck in styrofoam when I try to pull it out.

Thanks!

There is a weir in the bottom of the tank to ensure the pump can pick up fuel. Its not uncommon for sender units to get snagged on the edges of the weir. Usually persistent wriggling and changing angle will allow the unit to come out. Do a search here on the topic.....get a strong flashlight to see if you can find out which side is the issue. The metal tube has a plastic cup on the bottom with its opening facing upwards, which doesnt make things easy. Look up the article by Sharkskin on the fuel sender unit to get a look at the unit out of the tank.
