Default 80 16v Automatic - Thoughts on oil on here?

Took apart the air cleaner last night and noticed oil around the air guide housing. Photo shows what it looks like after I cleaned up a small pool of it. Looks like it's still seeping on one side, per the photo. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Yooper,
It looks like you need a new O-ring for inside the throttle body. Someone has tried to seal with silicone. They get flattened and hard with age. Cost about $10. The oil inside the housing is apparently pretty common, comes from the oil separator/breather system. Not really sure where the oil in the valley comes from. When you find out I'd kind of like to know, since I have a little myself.
Good luck,
Dave

The other place I noticed oil leakage in this area of my car was where the throttle body joins the plenum above. There is a 4" rubber sleeve which connects the two and any ingested oil can leak out there if the large hose clamps are not tight.
Good luck

Two things.....the oil inside the intake comes from the airbox itself....it probably is slimy too....the stock routing will inject oil into the passenger side lower airbox...that is how it gets in the intake

However, the oil in the valley is probably from a leaky seal under the oil filler, which is a very easy fix..two bolts (one inside oil filler) hold it in place
