I am not China but....
I do need to copy something, or rather I think we should take these designs and open another option for shifter assemblies.
I bought this early version of "WildWest...something" - a member on RL previously. He has disappeared. Both myself and others have attempted to contact him electronically and I cannot find the paypal info.
If he was still around, I would want people to go to him. But since I have the only copy I think I will see who can make this with a value-driven price.
I can take all measurements needed. I may also see if I need to send it to someone to take the appropriate measurements and see how it cam be made.
A few suggestions:
1) Better hardware. Stainless steel would be good. Any metal is immediately rusting.
2) The aluminum may need to be anodized for longevity.
3) Assembly and installation in car with everything in place will be a challenge but is possible. The foam is a problem.

Hey Andy -
Its a custom designed shifter assembly that clasps around the TT.

Brendan - does it work well? Seem you are saying rust is an immediate issue though when installed?
If you have issues in California already seems they will be much bigger elsewhere? how long has this been? - no more than a few years right...?

Hi Alan. The shifting is very direct but still has the length of shift that people talk about needing.
The rust comment is because it mostly just sat in a car in San Diego. Which means that the steel parts would need some coating or protecting. The hardware is simple enough to change out. The black oxide just doesn't work here in SoCal (7 miles from the beach, for me) - I have had that issue with other sets of black oxide hardware.
Its about 2 years. No issues, however, with the Al to steel contact.

Does Brendan have a car that runs to try it on?
<Just kidding!! >
The guy who designed it was Sam, "wildwestsydney" here on RL, listed his location as "South Shore, MA" and last post was Jan 2012.
The thread is here:

It looks like a nice design, and with everything mounted to the TT avoids the whole issue of the engine/TT/tranny moving around relative to the chassis.
Hardware is no problem, even zinc plate would be fine-- anything but nekked steel (or black oxide-- same thing).
All we need is someone with good connections to a CNC shop, or use an online outfit like emachineshop.com -- might cost more, but would get done for sure.

BC, i looked at the set-up closely. You could bypass most of the hassle and CNC work by incorporating a pillow block and rubber-lined pipe clamp into that design. When I did my billet shifter alot of the slop was in the factory shifter handle spring design, so I got rid of those. Looks like this design dumps them too.

Last time I had contact with Sam was 31 March 2012 and he said his shop was busy and that he would finish the batch when he had more time. I seems like he is still busy...
I would definitely buy a set if there would be a new run of them.
