I must have missed this thread, great purchase, 1 of the nicest euro's, which makes it 1 of the nicest 928's. Wash it twice, clay bar it, then Meguiars NXT tech wax. Clean and sand all ground points! Hopefully the TB is all good. Adjust the throttle cable. Then when you feel like it examine the fuse/relay panel, replacing all fuses and buy spare relays. Then look into J Speakes chip upgrade.
Thanks,

I'll add my congrats!
Regarding the throttle cable-- many cars on the market now have a cable that has stretched from tension and cycling. There is also a rubber bushing that *I think* fails on some cars and yields a little extra play. With your uncommonly low miles and seeming easy treatment, it may not be a factor for you.
A few posts back someone mentioned chips-- what????
Is that a John Speake deal?
My blue car had about twice the mileage when I bought it, but similar level of care and similar use pattern in the last ten years- a couple thousand per year when averaged out. And yes, that still leaves a lot of work & precautionary renewing to be done.
BTW, I suspect more than a few share your touchstone ie the car and the movie (car's) soundtrack....the latter has been the subject of some debate on here previously...

928wolf,
Welcome to the 'shark tank' (NOT the TV show). You picked a great model and I'm sure you'll have fun driving it, and mostly fun bringing it up to your specifications (most of us have had an occasional frustration when doing this, but in the end, that's part of the fun too). Good luck with it, and your mid-life crisis insurance is exactly what my wife and I agreed on for my 'late life crisis'. Better enjoying interesting cars than finding interesting diseases via the other route!!!!
Cheers, and I hope you'll investigate the 928 Owners Club - www.928oc.org
