Default "82 Silver Euro with black Pascha

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/m...369684584.html

No financial interest....other than wishing I had the money to buy it if it checked out.

Looks beautiful.
Does not have spoilers, has 4.5L, so its most likely the lower powerEuro but not Euro S.
Not sure it matters much though.

while not a Euro S , still good looking car. Could not be registered in California which limits the market somewhat.

check out the "premium" of an early 911 S over the E and especially the T .......it is HUGE !! collector cars if there was a high performance version that version is usually much more valuable.....like a Hemi over a 440 or especially a 318....
Have to think that will be true for the 928 if/when they become popular collector cars....besides sooner or later just about all the 4.5 motored 928 owners start asking "how do I get more power ?"

Why do the seats appear to be the "85 onward design? Did that seat appear in Euros earlier?

Yes but the 911S wasn't a grey market car.

Euro S 928s are already worth more to us (the real collectors) but if and when (in a long time) the 928 becomes the kind of car collectors buy speculating value increases, i doubt it will be a factor elevating their prices. Pasha seats will be though as will original paint and overall condition.
More power i don't think will be of concern either. Collector cars are rarely driven the way we drive them. Condition, condition..

My car for example will be worthless to a collector.

Grey market cars (euro s) usually is not a good thing
with US collectors.

But You may be right Jim, and the 928 may be one of the exceptions.
time will tell.

Collecting has an ego element that can't ignore HP, especially superior factory original HP. Once people have knowledge of the whole 928 line up, two that stand out in regular production are the GT and Jubilee.

Well - I called about this car - has a little bit of a strange story: The seller (Original US owner who imported the car in 1986) was selling his house. The realtor noted the car would have to be removed before sale, and the realtor told the owner she "knew a guy"..that's the name and number in the ad "Rob"- he was brought in to sell the car. The owner (some rich type, apparently) wants no contact with anyone buying the car - and all correspondence is purely through "Rob". Car is for real - sat for a number of years and is currently running and driving, goes through gears well, and has some minor issues (tires flat spotted - tune up, fuel system etc.) Paint/Pascha is original, ("911 type sport" seats were in ROW cars in '81 only!). Interior is perfect except for a 1cm tear on rear console that looks repairable, dash/pod perfect, HVAC works but A/C status unknown. Carfax shows only two entries, from title in '86 and address change of owner in '91. Ran the car through DMV for theft - clean title to current owner is all they have records of.
It's actually an '81 but titled as an '82 for unknown reason. Color is NOT silver, but "zinnmettalic" or Pewter.

Equipment:WP0ZZZ92ZBS800648

1981
928
C00

M197 -Stronger battery
M261- Passenger side mirror
I287- Intensive windshield washer
I401- Phone dial wheels
M418- Side moldings
I423- Cassette container and coin box
I441- Fader, antenna booster, 4 speakers
I565- Safety steering wheel, leather
M568- Tinted windshield and side glass
M573- Air conditioner

Could not resist, wife OK'd it so now is mine. Got title today (Still from '86!)
Will pick up in April on way to Spring break vacation, plan is to drop off for a week at Jim Doerr's for some of his "magic" on fuel system/electric/etc., etc., - whatever he can do in a week...then picking up on way home to Rochester...on a flatbed, I'm too nervous to do 600mi. in a car that's freshly woken up...

Awesome! Btw, my daughter and her family live up in Leroy, and we go up to visit fairly often (we'll be up this weekend in fact). Would love to meet you and see your cars, especially this one once you get it. Shoot me a pm when you get the chance.
Congrats again on a good grab!

You should have had her buy that Cosby Car (if you are my age you get the connection)....I'll be around for sure..I used to work at Lakeside Hospital in Brockport (took care of a lot of Leroy folks) and lived about 15minutes outside Leroy in Churchville/Bergen area..

AFAIK those cheap seats were used in 4.5L '80-82 ROW when buyer didn't want to spend more on 928 style seats or true '78-84 MY sport seats. They were basically way to keep base model price down.
