Best location wiring through firewall...
1985 US model, 5 speed
I just picked up a Laser Interceptor and need to route wiring from the front bumper through the firewall to the interior. Any suggestions on best (i.e. most accessible, most clearance) grommet location to route wiring from engine bay into cabin? No plans to cut any holes in the fire wall.

I would suggest you run to the bulkhead under the drivers side (LHD) fender lip - though the bulkhead in the existing open grommet - then through the firewall using the grommet more or less underneath the wiper motor (well hidden) - room for a few small multiway cables there... above the pedals is quite congested - get a helper and make a long curved wire feeder so you can feed it all the way down from the engine side to where you can grab it.

Alternate to Alan's suggestion -
Follow the hood release cable. It goes out the side of the passenger compartment, comes out under the front fender liner near the vacuum accumulator. You have to pull the fender liner, but it's an easy run and it stays well to the side of the engine compartment away from most heat.
