Default Screw it , Ready for the 6 speed !

After looking for a reasonably priced 5 speed 85 and up trans and coming up empty I have decided to wait and see what Carl's 6 speed kit is gonna be like . Already scouring the internet for a tranny and they are not expensive at all. I'm hoping it is available before my tranny gives it up

Be prepared for a wait - while being an early adopter may mean things aren't ironed out fully yet - which may make it frustrating, more time consuming than you think and and more expensive than you think...

Your car will then be considered a 'hybrid' (gentle wording) configuration and unless the work is excellently implemented it will have a major impact on resale value, if it it is excellently implemented is will have a less major but still considerable impact on resale value. Buyers for Porsches typically want all original cars - for originality sake alone - but also for assurance of quality and easy repair in future...

No need to wait. Contact Dinsdale Piranha for his 6 spd conversion. Search: "6 Speed Trans Swap/Pics" and/or: "Just Peachy OB Project". T

84 will direct swap to any later model 928 until 1989....since the later version have PSD, not LSD

I have a perfectly good 84 5 speed sitting in my shop...but its an open diff?

The 88 box I have is not a limited slip unfortunately. Car had about ~120k miles on it, and had an engine fire. I have most of the parts for a swap (clutch assembly, torque tube, shifter linkage, pedals...

I was planning on keeping it for a rainy day, but if you need them, shoot me an email.

Hans
