Well, perhaps someone who recognizes where 'under your avatar' is might make some suggestions. All I see is a join date and post count. Got any more clues before my lack of patience rears up??

Thanks for elaborating Greg, I was speaking with a local company that specializes in this stuff and they indicated that it would be very difficult to find the right crimping tool to match the barb pattern on the fittings. He said that without a match the hose may not seal properly.
Any thoughts?

Those barbs are made for the original plastic hose....only. Unless you are prepared to attempt to install a piece of that original hose, any other hose will be compromised by the sharpness of the barbs.....exactly what you local hose guy indicated.

I believe that Roger has that original plastic hose. You will need some serious skill and luck attempting to attach it (I've never been able to attach the plastic hose properly.....however they did it, when the hoses were made is a mystery to most people.)

I've been cutting the end of that steel line off, welding on a -6 AN fitting and then having the line replated. This allows me to use a Teflon lined (impervious to modern fuels and their additives) AN hose for the actual hose part of the line. Note that the attachment at the stock steel fuel line, in the car, is a very strange, deep 16 x 1.5 threaded piece. I actually had this adaptor CNC made, to attach to this steel line and then go to AN. Interestingly enough, Porsche had a few of these same "adaptors" custom made, for use in fuel return line in the 964 RSR's....but they were very rare and very expensive.

Alrighty then... looks like most of that is well passed my skill level (not a pipe fitter, welder or machinist). But what I do understand is the sharp barbs are a problem! So...by removing or softening the sharp barbs...you have removed the problem. That i can do.

Just don't over tighten the clamps. Greg's hoses are the cats *** of hoses. Personally I have had no issues with the FI hose kit from roger.

And inspect yearly.

I was sure I wrote North Italy in the user CP.I always do that Sorry.

Anyway the lack of patience for something like this is a problem, like free sarchasm.. Do something for your self control. I have patience and I live well like other guys I had the pleasure to know in this forum. You can find someone that can help you...near Glendale(L.A. area).

Francesco-

Is it possible you were a member for 12 months that has now lapsed? I'm pretty sure that a user's location disappears when they go from member to user.

You tell him!

Did you go to Precision Plating? I love em. I've had at least 4 or 5 batches of stuff done there.

There are more than a few other Italian members, and many from other countries.

Our new-member guidance on the first page of thios forum recommends that you add your location, and the year/model/etc of your 928 to a signature line, so that others can adjust their guidance to what you drive and where you are.

Consider stepping up to full membership, which allows you to add a fulll signature line, add a link to a picture of your in that same signature area, plus gives you access to other members-only forums.

And I appreciate your recommendation on getting counseling for my potential lack of patience with the chronic shortcomings of others. I'll get right on that. Just need to find a condensed version that doesn't take any real time.
