Every tourist town on earth rents motorcycles, many places Harleys etc.

When I am on vacation someplace scenic, I rent a convertible, usually a Mustang is the cheapest fun looking one.

Calif has many incredibly beautiful roads, 17 mile drive in Monterey, Avenue of the Giants in the redwoods, but almost all of them are SLOW driving areas where visibility far exceeds the value of performance.

Downside of a convertible is very little trunk space for luggage, but I leave that at the hotel and only use the convertible for loops, not city to city for the most part. Luggage can be a tempting target for thieves, so I always throw a towel or blanket over anything suitcase like in the back seat.

Harley has their own program. International is okay but you'll need a clear motorcycle endorsement and also a credit card (not debit) with room for a $2000 authorization.

The rental is typically around $100-150/day but you also will need to get insurance since typical policies don't cover you outside your country. That can add $50/day.

Yes. A lot of Harley Davidson dealers rent stuff out.

There's other stuff too.

Thanks for all useful answers so far.. I thought it could be a small chance that there would be a special outfit for wierd rentals somewhere in California.
Since its just for a few days, I can live with a premium dayrate. But if I have to buy one and sell it again after 4 days.. its a bit excessive. ..

Who said you had to sell it? Ship it home as a souvenir.

Apologies. Not my intention to hijack. I'd just never heard of street motorcycle rental before. Then again, I don't exactly live in tourist central.

Wouldn't cost much to store, maybe $150-200/month. Just need to arrange to get it picked up to ship.

Looks pretty nice. Engine bay needs some attention. Glove box has some warping. Interior looks really good.

Store for free, have a trusted friend or lister watch and drive it a bit

Yeah, sometimes I just can't help myself.

Ha Ha, no deals at the moment.

On a serious note I think many of us, me included tend to jump on new users to quick for not searching, following the rules or for asking silly questions. Often comments that are posted and intended as a joke do not come across that way to the reader as they may be new to the forum or if English is not their first language, they simply don't get the humour or sarcasm.
