Had a great time. Beautiful weather and beautiful cars. It was nice to meet some other 928 owners. We are few and far between as measured by the acres of 911's, Boxsters and Caymans at the meet. Nice to meet Stan, you have a unique car-whatever Elfenbein Perlglanz means!!! j/k. Loved the Red '85 Euro (85euro928 Thom I presume?) And congrats to GeorgeM for taking home the prize. I don't think we met but I just wanted to say your car is exemplary. See you all next year. Maybe by then I can improve on mine MrMerlin.

P.S. Did anyone check out the red Karmann Ghia over by the vendors tent? Highly modified in that it is a widened and lengthened Karmann Ghia body mounted on a Boxster chassis and drivetrain. Custom leather interior and appointments. I think the only thing that was original VW was the tail lens.

P.P.S. My cousin, who is a very good amateur photographer, took a lot of pictures. I'll see if he will upload them to a photo website for all to see. I'll post a link later.

Congratulations to George on the trophy. He does have a beautiful 928. Glad all attendees had a great time, and that Anthony got what he needed and sent what he did not need home with others!

So sorry I couldn't make it for such a beautiful day at Hershey (much better than most!). My wife had significant back surgery a couple of weeks ago, and is in too much pain and stress for me to leave for a day of 'car fun'. Looking forward to seeing many of you at Frenzy again (and the OCIC in Kananaskis??).

Cheers,

While I didn't get to say "Hello" to anyone, I enjoyed the great attendance of 928's. I was shocked to see a near total absence of 928 parts. Of course, we arrived late (noonish)

Drove the 997 there, super nice day!

I got there about 8:30 and there just weren't any. I think I saw a few interior pieces, but that's about it.

These cars are going to be as rare as hen's teeth in ten years...

I bought one of the only parts available, a driver's side window regualtor and motor (needed the motor). A rear tail light was also purchased from the same guy by another one of the shark gang (Chuck), but that was about it for parts. It is mostly 911/356/944 stuff. I was looking for Boxster bits too, and not much for that either.
The real fun of Hershey is just getting together with folks and having a good social time, and lots of great Porsche ****!

Congrats George. I really wish I had the energy to make it over to the concours. You see so few 928's lately it is always nice to see others showing off their pride and joy.

I agree I saw very little 928 parts for sale I had a piece of carpet that mounts near the hand brake and a center console but It didn't stand out amongst all the 964 and 914 parts i had.

Gary all the best to your wife. I have been going through PT for my back to avoid surgery I can imagine the pain. Your a good man. Would have been nice to see you again it has been too long.

BTW that red Karmann Ghia was aamzing. Incredible work and time spent. I was the red tent across from it. My wife spent most of the time selling while I shopped, I believe that will be the last time she attends. I plan on bringing a car to show next year. Might have to bring a 964 if George plans on attending again.

Should not be shocked. Did you see any 968 parts, 924 parts. There were 2(?) 968s and no 924 cars? I didn't check the general parking area. I do feel like the red-headed step child sometimes; price we pay for exclusivity. And reason why we support our suppliers.

I saw someone with what looked like a good collection of 924/944 parts. I definitely saw a pair of perfect 944 door cards and a bunch of 924 dash binnacles.

This is true, and it would be a lot easier for once-or-twice a year guys like myself if you all would put a picture of your faces as your avatar and stick your cars in your SIG blocks!

I actually did see a small amount of 924/944 parts and a fair amount of 914 stuff but your point is well taken.

I think the internet has really crippled these swap meets. I remember back in the day, it was the ONLY source to find the used parts. Not that I am complaining

No way that's going to happen on my end at least! But, once you see us a few times you know the look of a crazy 928 owner.

Sorry, I didn't get to talk to you Shawn. We could have smoked our cigars together. After I made my rounds in the general Porsche area and the vendor areas, I hung out at the 928's in the concours section. That's where we mostly are.

This was the best Hershey so far, even though I didn't have my car.

Yeah, me too. But, I had a full day and the swap meet was just the first part of it. We went to Chocolate World and were in New Jersey before 5pm.

Next year we're probably going to leave the girls at home and stay Saturday night as well.
