Default Dual exhaust.

So found this dual exhaust by Supersprint for 928 s4.
Anyone seen and heard it http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/pt63_1...int-Exhaust/on a 928...?

if you add this you will also need to make a cutout on the opposite side of the PU cover.
There were a few cars from Gemballa that had this dual outlet and maybe some others

Super Sprint has their US offices in Texas and I passed this on to Roger about a year ago to possibly sell them (and I would buy one) but he didn't seem to have much success in getting any further info (or price) on it. 850euro = $1250-$1300US plus shipping from the UK is a little crazy. However there is somebody in California (do not remember his name) who has modded his immaculate white 928 to something very similar and I'd be all over having him do one for me too. Maybe Rog can chime in here and fill us in on the possibilities?

Louie Ott has a dual exhaust that comes out by the plate, it has been known to shoot flames

Supersprint did offer two options either the driver's side outlet or split/dual.

I was impressed-- from the images-- with their xpipe.

Their US office was out of Washington-- shows how dated my info is.

In other marques, like when I had my Alfa and some other euro cars, SS was well regarded.

They seem to have had little presence in US for a long time, I'm surprised if they have much inventory configured for US cars still available.

FWIW the X they sell looks surprisingly similar to the Louie Ott/ Motorsport of Utahs X pipe

Supersprint are generally regarded as a good to very good quality product, but you are paying for the name.

Based on your location, I would have thought you could find a local (within your country) respected custom exhaust specialist to make something cheaper than the Supersprint prices.

The X-Pipe available from Roger (928's R Us) was extensively tested and is known to offer a genuine performance increase - if you wanted to maximise the HP's gains, I'd buy the X from Roger then have a dual 2.5" stainless exhaust made locally to run back from there.

Louie Ott tested various exhaust configurations and the dual 2.5 is the best option for HP & torque across the rev range.

Aloha Lost... I'll search in the morning, but do you have any links for your Louie Ott reference? One of the POs deleted the cat (on a CA car) and I'm already leaning in this direction for my 84 S 4.7 (i.e. X-pipe and dual to 300 cats (from 928 motorsports) then TBD mufflers & custom 2.5" to the tips.

But I'm curious... is there any reason the X can't or shouldn't be used on an '84 928S?

The person with the white 928 I'm thinking of has a split exhaust with 3" pipes, has mesh where the rear bumperettes were removed and I also recall an iconic picture of the complete immaculate underside of the vehical on a lift. I know the regulars here would remember his name...I can't because of my advanced senior years. Hell, I'd be happy with a measured template of sorts and have one made. Doing the matching cut-out on the lower passenger side of the bumper cover is no particular big deal for any body shop. Opportunity is knocking! A little help here? Class........Class? Bueller? Roger?

The testing is done on a '90 GT, but for a standard S motor the effect will be similar. X Pipes will work on the S, however as the rear muffler orientation is slightly different on the old body cars (S, S2 etc) the rear section and muffler will be subtly different.

Ninespub - Dual 3" on a standard 16V motor is not the optimal size.

Ryan: The white 928 I speak of with the 3" Duals is a fairly-moded 32V-S4 or GT with headers, etc. I am sure that somebody will ultimately post a pic of it. The photo of the undercarrige is impressive.
