1988 S4 Craigslist
Hi everyone,
Been lurking for a while and finally made an account to get some tips. I found a nice S4 in my area: http://victoria.en.craigslist.ca/cto/4307989932.html
I asked the owner about the car, it has no accidents. Last 5k miles had TB, torque tube, and torque converter bearings done. The car has been sitting since November 1013, owner said he takes it out a few times a month to drive around the block.
Thanks for reading, what do you guys think?

It seems expensive for the mileage, but there's an obvious benefit to the work that it's had done recently. I'm not a fan of that interior colour, or aftermarket gear level, but that's just my taste. Otherwise, it looks (as much as you can say from photos) like it's been looked after. Engine bay pictures often say a lot, and there aren't any.

Full leather interior looks to be in good shape - the dash stitching is still straight so no major shrinkage.
What body colour is that? I'm trying to work out whether its Silver Metallic with a tinge introduced by the camera, or some other colour?
Is this car a "colour to sample" one perhaps? The interior doesn't look like Burgundy or Lipstick either.

That does not appear to be nougat braun metallic, we have one in the shop right now and it's my favorite color on the 928 but looks nothing like that. I will post some pics if you would like.
If the service is up to date it's a reasonable to slightly high price. The 87' auto Nougat Braun in our shop just sold for the same price and is in exceptional condition with a lot less miles. I would think $10-$12k if everything checks out and how good you can work the deal.

Right rear quarter, bumper cover and hatch has some issues going on there.

Race Car
Get it on a lift and get a pre-purchase inspection. Any VIN check on my car will show no accidents. Put it up on the lift and I can show you every side where it's been hit.
Service records help, but a PPI will find what's wrong with it today. Were fuel lines replaced? If not-add that to your first to-do list.
Good luck-hope it's the one.

Color looks like Linen Metallic to me. Definitely not Silver or Nougat Brown to my eyes.. Nice car, love the full leather interior. Needs a jump post cover
