IMO, if these are the same units, they will look downright goofy on a 928.
In a 944 not so bad since they are hidden from view during the daylight:

Fsharp9, I'm kinda curious too about this type of headlight. Are they any better than 8" H4's?
Here's another one, what do you guys think of these? (JW Speaker 8700 Evolution)

I really like the look of those JL Speaker lights and the light output looks to be really good as well. I just can't see myself spending $1,100 on new headlights and still having that lam-o chrome ring around them. I with these came in an 8" diameter. I have some 8" lights for my widebody in my avatar. Maybe I could paint the chrome rings to match my body color so that they don't stand out so bad.

Great write-up review over onthe GRM website. Definitely something to consider and a nice safety upgrade, especially for those of us who daily drive our 928s.

Running them on an OB and an S4 and they are a fantastic upgrade.

On the S4 the owner painted the trim rings body colored so it doesn't look like crap.

I cannot quite put my finger on why, it's almost like these look unfinished or something compared to an H4 or H5.
Not saying they look bad. Hell, anything is better than the original OB 7" lights. A maglight held by the passenger offers more light.

I wasn't sure about it either when they were first installed since they were "different", they've grown on me. Especially when weighing the benefits on light output. On the S4's you do have to get the early trim ring painted body color or black otherwise it will look stupid. Only reason I've not done it on my own is we are trying to come up with a modification to put a projector beam in the 8" headlight.

They are much better than the early H4, miles ahead in light visibility. But yea, expensive.
