Or windows (and their electric motors) for that matter
It would be half again as much if I wasn't running street lighting.

I'm just glad to be done with the "removal" part of this project. Stripped out my last circuit today (rear brake pad sensors) and now I get to start putting back what's left in earnest.

Adam you might want to contact Rob E ( current owner of my race cAr)
I spent many hours thinning the electrical system. I wanted a stock fuse panel for ease of future diagnosis. There is no longer any unnecessary relays, fuses, or wires in that car.

I'll check in with Rob if I get hung up. I'm actually trying to set this up like the Zombie - stock gauge cluster, and stock fuse panel. I'm trying to stick with your mantra of if it's not broke, don't fix it. I want the stock fuse panel for exactly why you stated, easy diagnosis. If something goes wrong or needs trouble shooting, just grab the WSM and pull the diagram.
So far so good. Really....

I am the world's worst at electrical bits, but the Zombie is remarkably 'stock' with respect to the wiring, given that it's an '88 5-speed with an '89 CE panel (928 610 105 17), a 90+ digidash from an auto, has a 19-pin diagnostic port, no ABS or PSD wiring or sensors, and an 89+ LH harness with ICM harness plugs that are bypassed.

Lots missing from the panel:

Default Main Body wire harness weight

By coincidence, I happen to weigh my 90GT body harness, and came up with 9.5 Kg (20.9 lbs). That is without insulation, which weighed just shy of 2 lbs.

Cheers!

Adam,

You asked "How much wire can your remove from a track car?"

At risk of being considered a wise a$$, I've got to say - you CAN remove ALL of it. Now, of course if you want the track car to run it is really a different question and a different answer!!!! HA

Cheers, and good luck in getting the maximum lbs out and having the car still be drivable.
