How old are your ignition coils? You may want to install new ones, especially if never refreshed.
Aging coils can cause loss of power and poor running when warmed up. This can cause sluggish response too.
They don't always fail flat out.

An 80MY does not have a Temp II, only a single temp sensor ..... Part II of the 80 current flow diagram, lower right - current track 12. Neither does it have a Air temp sensor in the air filter box.

I replaced the green wire and it still missed, then I replaced the temp sensor ( per Roger)
and this has solved it. I drove it for a few hours on Saturday in very warm temps
and it has never missed a beat ($32 part).

Glad you've fixed it. Of course, you know if you hadn't done all those other things first, changing the $32 part wouldn't have fixed the problem. As I keep telling my wife, just because swapping out X didn't solve the problem it doesn't mean X didn't need changing!
