Well, you have sure showed me. Boy - do I feel like a complete rube, no nothing, stupid, twit.

Well done, sir. Well and truly done to mock, ridicule, and shyte on my opinion.

Doc, I'm really sorry, didn't mean to mock or ridicule, I'm guilty of having knee-jerked a response to your post. I honestly don't have any actual data that the top-dollar 928 sales are all sticks, it was just my tech-free opinion. And as an unwashed, myself, I'm 100% in agreement with you about the preferring the stick thing.

I can assure you that Rob's response came across the internet as being harsh, but not intended that way. That would have gone right on by, in a bar full of 928 people.

Sadly, Rob hasn't got a single mocking, ridiculing, or shyteing bone in his body.

Which puts him at a severe disadvantage when dealing with me....

Surely you only want prices to be high when you're selling and not buying another, so never

Not having one yet, I'd rather prices were low . There are a lot of cars out there that aren't selling, but people seem to be taking their pricing seriously.

Personally I thought Doc was mocking the "cognoscenti" about the automatics.....weird how things can get translated.
Look at the HISTORY of collector /classic autos and the rare, expensive, high performance, manual transmission (if offered), and convertible(if offered) all tend to be major factors.
That may be changing since only about 7% of all new cars are now manual. I had a tow truck driver AAA show up and HE COULD NOT DRIVE A STICK !! was shocked that my 2007 Passat is a 6 speed manual.. Whole generation of people who never had a stick shift car...or learned to drive them.
Reminds me of trying to teach my first wife to drive a stick and she said "But why do I have to shift" it did not work....

My first wife is the same way. She doesn't drive the 928 anyway, but when I went to look at a GT years ago, she casually mentioned that it would need a home in another garage. Some glaring faults just need to underplayed and overlooked I guess.

can't even remember what this thread was about.

But i agree that Rob meant nothing by the response,

I think docmirror's response may have been due to the lambasting
Mark Kilbort has been taking. I don't like watching this either.

How's that for a tangent?

OnT: $25K for the car, depnding on how/where it was stored, and assuming the PPI is clean and the cosmetics are as good as they look. Bummer about the boomin' speakers, though that's a cheap fix.
