I just need two non-snow filled days with at least 30* F degree weather to replace a hose, swap in an '87 FPR and new dampner, re-seat the passenger side fuel rails and install my S3000 chips and then my '86 can really amaze me!

Just a quick update for everyone... I picked up the car on 2/27 from RennsportKC and drove right from KC to St. Louis because of a family emergency with no issues at all! I had a great experience with the service at RennsportKC and would recommend them to everyone. Their PPI was very detailed and timely, if anyone would like to see what it looks like PM and I will show you their work. Thanks again RennsportKC!

After doing some quick clean-up in St. Louis (filled up with premium, put in some techron, cleaned and conditioned leather, etc.) I tried to beat winter storm titan up to Chicago with no luck...

The Toyo summer tires on the car were awful and I ended up driving about 30-40mph on the highway all the way to Chicago after stopping when the sleet/snow got really bad.

So now that I am in Chicago (gold coast/Lincoln park) I am in search for a good mechanic that may be able to help me down the road with anything I cant do myself. Any recommendations?

I'm in the same boat kinda,I purchased a 85 928s3, on ebay from NY, TON of service records, thought about flying back with the wife, and driving it back,
even though rhetoric car was very loving maintained, I decided to ship it to CA, $1050.00, it arrives 11/28/16😄😎😎. peace of mind is everything.it's funny I went to register the car herental on this site and it's already registered by the dealership, that sold it to the gentleman I purchased it from, its a small world truly, SORRY FOR THE RANT, SHIP IT,SHIP IT SHIP IT.

Welcome Mrspencer! Glad to have you as part of the 928 Crew now and specifically on the S3 team. Make sure you put in your VIN on this site and see exactly what options you have and other details if you havent done that yet. There is a specific thread for this.

As a matter of fact, your message kind of brought me back to the board as I have been way too over my head this last year with a new house and a marriage! But I'm in the process of building a garage with the 928 in mind

Let me know if you have any questions about your car in the meantime, I know more than I probably should about this specific model type haha
