empty weight....
any of you track guys, or people that like to weigh everything (looking at you ROB).... know what the empty weight of a 16v car is? (minus fuel if ya have it)
trying to work out weights for this gov sponsored move to LA>..... they will pay you by how much weight you take with you in your car.

The old very brown 1980 is just over 3,000 lbs lightweight seats but has a rollbar...no spare tire.. none sunroof car and MSDS headers no cat at that time. no A/C compressor and small alternator...

My 79 is similar to Jim's and is also just over 3,000lbs.

Wow - been a while since I looked at PCS reimbursment rates. Eff 1 Jan 14 it's $0.235 / mile. With gas prices and wear/tear, I thought it'd be a lot more.

ya , thats the Per diem for driving, but the "belongings/weight" for the partial DITY is what I'm trying to work out.. we found a way that we might be able to get the USAF to pay to ship the car, we just pay the difference....

3190 is the unladen DIN weight in the specifications for your model. DIN weight = 90% full fuel tank, spare tyre, tools, no driver.
90% full tank (77 litres) = 123lbs ... therefore unladen weight with empty tank for stock factory car = 3067 lbs.
